Audiology is the study of hearing, balance, and related disorders. It’s the branch of science and medicine that deals with diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing loss, ear disorders, and balance issues. Hearing loss is the partial or total inability to hear sounds in one or both ears. It can happen suddenly or gradually and can affect people of all ages. Some hearing loss is temporary, while other types are permanent.
Conductive Hearing Loss
Problem: Sound can’t pass efficiently through the outer or middle ear.

Problem: Damage to the inner ear (cochlea) or the auditory nerve.

A combination of conductive and sensorineural hearing loss.
