Harrow Health CIC was established in November 2007 to improve the delivery of primary care and community health services within the Harrow region. The idea behind its creation was to integrate community health services with a focus on improving access, enhancing quality, and offering patient-centred care. It was designed to be a non-profit entity with a social purpose, meaning any profits generated were reinvested into the local community and the improvement of health services. The goal was to transform and provide high-quality, sustainable healthcare to the local population through collaborations with other NHS services and organisations.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), Harrow Health CIC was specifically structured to benefit local populations and to address the unique health challenges within the Harrow area, which includes a diverse, multi-ethnic community with varying healthcare needs.
By 2010s, Harrow Health significantly expanded with below listed key achievements and services:
Access to GP Services: One of the Harrow Health’s most notable achievements has been to deliver access to General Practitioner (GP) service in Harrow including a walk-in centre in Harrow East and GP Extended Access Hub.
